How it works

A work history confirmed by the employers themselves

Employees build a trail of jobs. Each employer confirms or denies the job they’re named on. Other employers see the result only when the employee approves.

For employees

Verified once, trusted everywhere

  1. 1Create an account

Sign up with your email and phone number, and confirm the phone with a code.

  2. 2Verify your NIN once

We check it against the national record and give you an EmployTrail ID, like ET-4KQ7-2915. Employers never see your NIN.

  3. 3Add your jobs

We send each employer a one-click link to confirm. We remind them on days 3, 10 and 30. Add a payslip or offer letter while you wait.

  4. 4Share your ID, approve each request

When an employer asks to see your trail, you approve with a code sent to your phone. Access lasts 30 days and you can withdraw it.

For employers and households

Check a candidate in minutes

  1. 1Apply for a business account

Companies upload their CAC certificate; households give their details. Our team approves every account, usually within one working day.

  2. 2Ask for the candidate’s ID

Enter their EmployTrail ID, or invite them by phone if they don’t have one yet. Requesting access uses one credit.

  3. 3See their verified trail

Once they approve: which jobs employers confirmed, honest exit reviews, verified guarantors and anything worth asking about.

  4. 4Put your own staff on, free

Add staff one by one or by spreadsheet, confirm job claims, record exits and issue letters anyone can check.

For guarantors

A guarantee that’s real

  1. 1Open the SMS link

No account needed. The link comes from the person who asked you to vouch for them.

  2. 2Verify your NIN

Your name must match the national record. Employers see that you’re verified, never your NIN.

  3. 3Read and sign

Plain-language guarantor terms, signed online. You can withdraw at any time.

  4. 4Confirm your address

From home, with your phone’s location and a photo of the building, or by uploading a recent bill.

What each status means

Every job on a trail carries one of these, so nothing looks more certain than it is.

Verified by employer

The employer named confirmed it on EmployTrail.

Awaiting employer

We’ve asked the employer. They haven’t answered yet.

Evidence provided

The employee uploaded a payslip, letter or ID card while waiting.

Unverifiable

It can’t be checked, for example because the company has closed.

Denied by employer

The employer said it isn’t right. The employee can dispute it, and we review every dispute.
